Practical training runs on three tracks. Bench practice on campus builds the technical skill each programme needs. Clinical postings place students in health facilities under supervision. Community field work takes them into the surrounding communities of Etim Ekpo for health education, screening and outreach. All three are assessed, and all three must be completed before a student can graduate.

Each student is assigned a supervisor at the placement site and an academic supervisor from the department. The site supervisor signs the log book and reports on conduct and competence; the academic supervisor visits during the placement and marks the report submitted at the end of it. The placement mark counts towards the result for that level.
