Office of the Provost

Welcome from the Provost

Welcome to Jasacomptom Christian College of Health Technology. We are a Christian institution at Uruk Ata Ikot Akpan in Etim Ekpo, Akwa Ibom State, training the health workers our communities depend on — in the laboratory, in the dispensary, and in the primary health centres where most Nigerians actually meet the health service. What you will find here is a small college that takes its work seriously: close teaching, real practice, and a standard of conduct we do not apologise for.

Our programmes are built around practice. Students spend their time at the bench and in the field, not only in the lecture theatre, and each programme is structured to lead to registration with the professional body that governs it. Teaching is shared between academic staff and practitioners who still work in the services our graduates will join.

We care as much about character as about marks. A health worker holds people at their most vulnerable, and competence without integrity and compassion is of little use to a patient. If that is the training you are looking for, we would be glad to hear from you — apply through the portal, or come and see the campus for yourself.

Priorities for the current session

  • Completing accreditation for every programme the College offers, so that each graduate leaves with a qualification the regulators recognise.
  • Building the teaching laboratories and the clinical placement network to the standard the professional bodies expect.
  • Holding the College to its Christian character in conduct, in worship and in the way students and staff treat one another.
