Practical work runs alongside classroom teaching from the first semester. The College maintains teaching laboratories for each programme, a demonstration room for clinical procedure, and a computing laboratory used for screening, ICT coursework and access to the student portal.

Laboratory sessions are supervised at all times. Students are expected to observe standard laboratory discipline: appropriate dress, correct handling and disposal of specimens and reagents, and honest recording of results in the practical logbook. Anyone who misses a scheduled practical must arrange a make-up session with the department.
Consumables for scheduled practicals are provided by the College. Students supply their own laboratory coat and safety items as set out in the departmental handbook. [Details to be supplied.]
