Student Affairs

The Student Affairs unit is the first place to go with anything that affects your life as a student outside the lecture room — welfare, accommodation, discipline, associations and personal difficulty. The unit works closely with the Chaplaincy and with academic departments.

What the unit does

• Orientation and settling-in support for new students
• Welfare and counselling, and referral where specialist help is needed
• Hostel allocation and accommodation matters
• Recognition and supervision of student associations
• Discipline, grievances and appeals
• Identity cards, letters and student verification

Getting help

You can call in during office hours without an appointment. Matters raised in confidence are treated in confidence, except where the College has a duty to act.

What we expect

Students are expected to keep the College rules, treat staff and one another with respect, dress appropriately for a health training institution, and attend classes and clinical postings as scheduled. The full student code is issued at registration.
