Core values
- Excellence — we hold teaching, assessment and clinical practice to the standard the profession expects. We would rather do a few things thoroughly than many things loosely.
- Integrity — honesty at the bench, in the examination hall and in the record book. A health worker’s word has to be reliable, because someone’s treatment depends on it.
- Service — training is not an end in itself. Students learn here in order to be useful to the communities of Akwa Ibom and beyond, and particularly where health workers are scarce.
- Compassion — competence without kindness is not care. Students are taught to meet patients as people — to listen, to explain, and to protect the dignity of those they treat.
